Well after reading all that I guess I will be scratching CWF off my list. I can't afford to only work when they need me to. That's kind of what I already put up with at CWTL I work when they have miles, I just don't get to go home between shifts.
How much experience do you have driving? If you have you license and endorsements but no experience CWF will train you. I would put my time in it just to get your experience at least and see what the year does. Every terminal is different, my old one was one of the few that has a lot of problems. I was hired right after someone retired and stated as an apprentice and then they brought in two other apprentices and hired two exp guys who bumped us in senority. Now out of us 5 who were hired, 3 of us quit, 1 transfered and the other is still there. Right now the terminal is really really slow according to a friend but right now LTL is slow everywhere. Good luck with whatever route you choose, but I think LTL is the way to go as long as your willing to pay your dues. I got a lot of info on companys so message me if you want any information.
I say go for it and give it a try. You can always leave if you dont like it. Every terminal is different so you might luck out at a good one. Wish you the best of luck on whatever you decide to do
So Conway starts out at a pretty good pay rate here in my area (MN) but what are the raises like? Annually? performance based? Decent amounts or is it this little 10 and 15 cents an hour crap?
Its an annual raise. 5 yr till top pay of 24.55. April 1st, all hourly employees get a 2.5% raise. not much ,but its something
I might be mistaken, but pay scales are like top secret or something. Never ever have i seen it anywhere. But in CWX i start at 18.60 which is almost a dollar paycut from CCX
The say the starting wage on their website for MN (18.95) when you search for a job, it also says regular pay raises but....regular can mean a lot of different thing a lot of places. Which is why I asked.
