That is the one I want to apply to. It is less than 30 miles from my home. I don't mind humping on the dock, it will keep me from getting fat and save me gym membership money. I am really nervous because I am afraid that if someday I want to haul tankers in Texas, (I like to plan for the future it is the Financial Advisor in me), that the LTL/Local stuff at Conway won't count as enough experience. However, if I like Conway I might make a full career out of it. Do you know how hard it is to get transferred to another terminal? I want to move closer to my family in Texas and get out of California in a year or two. I'd like to work out of Houston. Thanks for the help.[/TD]

Yes you can transfer at any time to a different terminal anywhere in the company that has an opening, even within your 90 days of hire.
Gunner710 Thanks this. -
Thanks for all your help Century, If Con-Way gives bonuses for new drivers let me know. I will put it on my application. -
No con-way doesnt give referral bonuses, and either way I wouldnt want one. I dont mind helping out.
I say go apply right now. Whats the worst that could happen?
Yes you lose your seniority in a transfer, but you get to keep your company time and vacation. You become a full time employee after 90 days so you go below all other regular employees but above all supplemental employees.
And yes you will take a paycut if you start at a higher rate and transfer to a terminal that pays less.Gunner710 Thanks this. -

You can also look at Bureau of Standards There is a wealth of information at these sites. The cost of living here in Mooresville NC is much less than New York NY, making 7.25 here you would need to make around 14.00 in New York -
