Beginning orientation tomorrow with Con-way Truckload. I'm hoping for consitent 3000 week miles. Are any owner/operators experiencing that now?

bwood2800, you should be able to run an average of 3000 miles weekly if you 1st, let your FM know that you like to run and not sit, and secondly do not refuse loads. If you refuse a load here and a load there your miles will quickly drop and they will stay low. Although we run team I have talked with several o/o solos that have good miles. When I here a o/o complain about there miles the 1st thing I ask is if they refuse loads and the answer is always yes. Build a good relationship with your FM and make it clear the more miles the better and you should do alright.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm excited to be aboard. I took a first load to Waco, TX. Several people were turning it down, then I popped up and took it. I have been here since yesterday at approximately 6p. There are several Conway Truckload bobtail here. I hope we get out soon. I was ready to go. Right now it is said nothing is here due to it being Sunday, so hopefully something pops up soon.

Yeah Waco (if it's Tractor Supply) is usually a death sentence...lol keep your chin up and things will pick up. This is actually a good time to get your feet wet b/c it's a slow time of the year for a lot of freight. It will pick up quickly though with spring just around the corner. Who is your FM?
