Just take it to Conway Freight in JAX best place, drop it at a Truck stop and you will be called on your time off to go secure it by hooking to it,,,if you drop at COnway its secure(you can leave your truck there also, btw if you take your truck home and it fails to start, its a YOU problem,,I.E.$$$,if you leave it at a yard its a "THEM" prob") just a FYI 4 U

Glad the thread helped MustangJ feel free to take it over. We had a good run but it seems most have moved on. Its not all hugs and kisses but I still think its a great place to get your start, I'm still liking it but the real test is coming up...... WINTER..... I think that will probabably be the make it or break it for me, I'm looking forward to the challenge so only time will tell. TruckerNurse and CrazySeeker whats going on? You guys still with us?
C-mon Vmaggs Winter is nothing but a thing LOL! Just think about me I'm starting in the winter tizz the season HAHAHA!!!! and I'm a florida boy!!!! I have faith you can handle it. Hope to meet you some day and every one else on this awsome site!!!!
Vmaggs I am still here just lurking around behind the scenes. Man the time at Crowder is flying by. Our class will do our CDL tests next Monday and Tuesday and I am looking forward to the next step. If all goes as planned I will be done on the 28th, take a week at home with the wife and then back to Joplin for orientation with Conway on the 7th. As it has been mentioned here before, Crowder seems to have a pretty good program but I have nothing else to compare it to. My experience has been pretty good and I look forward to class each day. They have a variety of equipment to give you some experience on and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get their CDL. Starting out I had some frustrating days and questioned whether I had made the right choice but with every passing day my confidence improves and I am looking forward to getting on with my finisher. As you mention though and I have also thought about, the timing of my training will put me right in the beginning of winter with no truck driving experience to boot, definitely a double whammy. Stay Safe!!!
Good luck on the tests, I'm sure you'll pass. As for winter you will probably hit some snow with your trainer. As for me I grew up in snow but its been years since I had to drive in it, oh well just have to roll with it and be as safe as I can.
Vmaggs Passed my CDL test today. I felt the pre-trip and backing went great but I kind of let my nerves get to me on the road trip. Oh well! I made it through. The instructors at Crowder did their part and had me ready I just got freaked out and bumped more gears than I normally do. I was such a wreck that when it was all over I had trouble signing my paperwork lol . I am looking forward to finishing up this week, taking a week off, and then orientation on the 7th.
As for winter driving cwtl is very understanding if you pull over due to bad weather and your comfortablility. If you wreck going 10 mph its your fault roads to bad to travel if you are parked in a spot and some one slides into you your not at fault . Take it slow don't over react n n cool on yo stool
