    Hey Roadrealtor,
I hope to be headed for Joplin as a recent graduate in the next week or so with start date of May 29. Can you lay out for me what to expect?
    Thanks

Was wondering how the miles for solo's is going at Con-way? They were my starting point a few years ago, did Crowder and everything. Teamed with the husband just under two years there...then we kind of moved on. Now that we aren't teaming anymore I got a regional job, but the hours are killing me for next to no pay! I was thinking about revisiting Con-way, but heard solo's were only getting like 2000 miles a week:biggrin_2556:....thoughts anyone???

The mileage here varies based on where you are, what area you are working(regional or otr) and what time of year it is. All in all Con-Way drivers get the miles pretty consistantly. We all like to complain at some point that we arent getting miles, but truth be told, mileage really isnt an issure here most weeks.

My miles (and pay) have been very poor. $500.00 a week average paychecks (no, no time off, no late loads, and lots of communication with FM). Read the posts about Conway in other sections. Seems that quite a few others are having the same issues. BTW, there is ALOT of work, time, and sacrifice put in to make just $500.00 a week. Not worth it.

Sorry for the delay. If you aren't there yet, expect a day or so of paperwork, drug test, I think there is an agility test now. Then, a few days in neosho, staying at a place callled the Boonslick lodge, about 4 days of fine tuning your skills, then back to Joplin for a last day of administrative stuff. After that, you go out with your finisher for 7500 to 10,000 miles.

Enjoy it, have fun, be safe.

Thanks, I really enjoyed your Thread, excited to start driving, just passed my test today at the DPS office YEAHHHH and I offically hold my CDL A Permit and I start class in three weeks. Appreciated you for describing how Con-Way does their driving cause I don't quite don't understand it and what beginners start at, you really helped alot with the detail. Seriously looking at Con-Way to go with, will enjoy reading more about them.

Conway SUCKS stay away, they will ruin you and your record! Not even a notice of anything happening at all to a good friend of mine. Come to find out a upper management member of the Conway Freight side thought he saw my friend go through a red light and he was over a mile from said red light. Truth is said light was changing to yellow when his bumper passed the "Intersection" line! I went through CDL training with this friend and now he has been out of work since September when he was coming home for home time, they called him and told him to "park it at the terminal we are letting you go" Clean out the truck. Just saying be very careful with this crackers. Thanks.

I really doubt they would tell you to park it at a terminal....they would route you to a terminal and then inform you that you were being fired/let go. I dont think any company is going to let you drive the truck after informing you that you were fired.....so right there you can tell the story is Cow Poo.
