Con-way truckload (aka CFI)

Who was your old Fleet Manager?

 

I talked to a woman at Conway this past Tuesday and she told me that CONWAY was not hiring solo grads at this time, only teams. From what I've read here, I would really like to start with a company like CONWAY.

 

I spoke with a lady from Conway this past week, too, and was told the same thing. They're hiring husband and wife teams, specifically. I'm really disappointed. If I'd started a couple years ago, like I wanted to, I could've gotten on with them. There's no telling when, or if, they'll go back to excepting rookie solos.

 

I live in Oklahoma, but would it make a difference since ConWay isn't hiring students? Is it that you have to hire on and team with your trainer for a certain period of time?

Just curious how that works.

 

I used to be on fleet 20 when Jacob was there. I dont know whos running that fleet nemore but if i come back i know i wanna try and get put on the other Jacobs fleet if he's still there. When i was there i used to drive truck 23262 when it was new off the line...

 

I speak with a lot of Conway/CFI drivers .I have yet to meet a single one that has badmouthed the company yet..To me that's pretty #### good.

 

Same with SEFL. Armpit of the LTL business? A tough call as there are a number of bottom feeders. My vote goes to Benton Express as I put in substantial time with them.

 

Im missin the old days of driving for them. Im gonna get all my things i need to take care of here at home and im gonna try and come back. Out of every place i drove for CFI / Conway was definlty the best. The way i was treated my old FM there knew me by voice the list goes on. But i hope to be back in the seat with them again soon...
