That stinks.. They're turning us back up to 67 MPH on the Freight side as trucks go in for PM's..

OK, I made that up and it really isn't happening .. We're at 62 but I'm a little surprised they're turning Truckload down again.. Not that big of a deal for us but 63 MPH running OTR is no good IMO..

Conway Truckload is currently at 65 MPH. Maybe they were lower since last December but currently they are back to 65!

Check out one of threads list a couple posts up, what's your 20, the crowder one, and.one about orientation, those guys on those have all been through some sort of training here, I'm sure they can help you with questionable.

Lawdog, great info, thanks. The recruiter told me they pay for the orientation week, $350 or something, plus food? I just got my permit and hopefully will have my Class A with Hazmat in January. Does Conway put you in a dorm with other drivers at the Joplin HI during the orientation? Someone here mentioned it. Do they have trainers who don't smoke in the truck? Thanks again for good information.

Starboy, jumbing in on Lawdog here but I saw the post so what the heck. I don't remember exactly, but I believe the per diem while in orientation is $50 per day.

Don't get your hazmat yet. If you get hired by CWTL you will be given 90 days to get it and they will cover the background check which I believe is $90.

If you are trained in a school other than Crowder, part of your orientation will be spent in a hotel near Crowder (in Neosho, just south of Joplin). Crowder will spend a few days with you getting you fine tuned to Conway standards.

There are some non-smoking finishers (trainers). You can request but no guarantees. Hope this helps, good luck with your CDL.
