Echoing what Cycle said. Their minimum MPG requirements are easy to meet. Even as a solo who idled most of the time during summer, it was easy to maintain 6 mpg.

Thanks a lot guys, the information is very helpful and we are seriously considering Conway. We have a few things to sort out before we make the final decision.
cyclingtrucker I dont know if Conway offers a recruiting bonus but we would be willing to say that you recruited us, if we end going there....
Thanks again. -
yes I was confused kmfishing. I completed the school at Fort Scott Ks.Community College today. Still have to re-test for the State on Tuesday, but should not have a problem. Christine called me yesterday and said there was an opening for orentation on Monday but since I have the re-test, I couldn't accept so I am still sheduled for Feb 23rd and looking forward to it. Good luck in School and pay attention on Shifting.

Well my fiance phoned Conway and spoke to a young man and asked him about driving solo out of Florida (he was thinking about going out alone) and the guy was not that interested so then he asked if they would be interested in a Team . He made some comments about not much freight with a lot of umms and ahhhhs and then he came up with 'oh we are short on trucks so call us back in about a month or so'...This guy appeared to not know what he was doing, it does not reflect well on Conway when the recruiters appear to be confused and unsure.
We were a little shocked with this result because a few days prior to the phone call I was on Conways website and chatted with a online recruiter and told her we were a team based in Florida and I asked her if they were interested and she said definately and I did not even get into specfics...so go figure.

I'm sorry you had trouble with that recruiter. I suggest you talk to Christine or Denise

. They are both pretty cool and will tell you the truth. Not sure why you were told that there weren't that many trucks but according to my hubby, he knows a couple of people that will be attending orietation in Joplin.
Sacred Feline Thanks this. -
I'm here at the hotel in Joplin starting orientation tomorrow (man that 20 hr bus ride was fun!
) I was told before attending that there might be some delay getting my own truck after my trainer time, but that is the case at most if not all companies these days. I'll know more tomorrow but I am still very optomistic about things here and the upfront way I've been treated so far.
Good luck!
Stevejasondt2001 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info .....we will reconsider our options.

Tinman55,
Please update us on your orentation as I am scheduled to start in Joplin Next Monday and I would like to know what to expect. Thanks -
Make sure you talk to Christine if you want to know more about the Truckload side. All the rest just know enough to answer general questions.
Let us know about orientation and keep us informed if you can on the wait for a truck. I can handle a few weeks but months is just way to long. Good luck to the two of you going to orientation. I start school at Central Tech (Oklahoma) on March 3rdBlue Streak and Sacred Feline Thank this. -
I just talked to a guy named Robert over there and he seemed to know his stuff. I'm looking at Conway because they have the Military transition and are a VA approved company. Has anyone done the Military transition with this company and if so, did it work out well for you? Thanks for any and all help and please drive safe.
