You have to ask yourself, is he an actual driver looking for a job. Or part of the old CFI police.

One only has to read through some of the old threads on CFI/Conway to realize many of the people (drivers and their family members) who complained about them....no longer post within this forum, or any forum for that matter.

Were their problems resolved ??? If so, it seems it would be something they would come back and brag about.

I've seen the threats on their forum...posted by people in management. I've seen the subtle remarks by other drivers directed at "disgruntled" drivers within the forum.

Threats of legal action. Knowing full well, it's David vs. Goliath. Money talks...the truth suffers.

You get nothing but rose colors in ANY forum now, when speaking of the former CFI....now Conway truckload. Or misleading/incomplete statements.

$85k last year ??? Maybe in LTL...not in truckload. Notice I didn't say never, there are certian (very few) instances a solo driver can and will make 87k.

I guess if someone needs a job, and is just starting out. They're still a viable solution, I've always said that. For the experienced driver, it's a complete waste of time. Sooner or later the experienced driver realizes he can make the same money, and enjoy more time off at home. With another company.

Conway LTL...I would recommend to anyone. Truckload....not so much.

I worked for Conway Truckload as a solo for 1.5 years. Trucks are set at 65. Miles ranged from 800 a week if that week you were going home to 3800 per week if you were real lucky. My average was about 2400 a week in that time and I went home once per month. Never had a problem with pay or reimbursements. Only problem was they run you in opposite direction of home until you put in to go home. Out 7 days, hilite to go home and they have 8 days to get you there. They require new hires to get Hazmat and ability to go to Canada within 3 months or they will cut you loose. Are somewhat lenient with log books as you can run loose leaf. Safety bonus each quarter, but hope to have a reason not to pay. They hire from anywhere in the US I believe...I hailed from S Florida. All in all, good company but you have to stay on them if you have to be home a specific day.

That's all very true. And can be said for 90% of the companies out here. I still recommend them to new drivers. Primarily because of the speedy pay increases.

I average about 2400 miles a week, and I'm home every weekend. Vast difference in my opinion.

Conway Truckload in itself isn't a bad company. But thanks to the ### wipes in Joplin. They have a completely ### backwards definition of "family" than I do. Family would never go out of it's way to stab you in the back.

Wow, this has the makings of a conspiracy theory.
Might have to being Jessie Ventura in.
    Hope it wasn't therimite paint.
Have to keep a eye of the secret goosestepping CFI police, they must run a covert ops.
If I ever come up missing for posting, we will know where to start.

It is probably due to all the secret brainwashing techniques they have to go through from the CFI police.

Now your true colors are showing. Maybe not to the newb :biggrin_25511: but deflecting doesn't address the issue with me. I worked there for almost 3 years.

CFI Police -- Company drivers actively looking for any opportunity to call in on another driver.

I witnessed it more than once in my time there. Although you can deny it...it doesn't make my story any less valid than your denial.

Driver after driver pulled in for a royal ### chewing from safety, because some ### wipe thought it was to unsafe to check your directions on a ramp/shoulder...at your exit. At 2am in the morning.

Drivers being called into safety for passing another driver....that thought the conditions were unsafe. Because it was too dark to see far enough ahead to pass safely in his/her mind.

No place to dump the trash from your trailer? Better bag it up and put it in your cab....or there WILL be a phone call made. God forbid you leave that bag sitting at the corner of the trailer and a relay occur.

Ever have a flat at a customer ?? Better check those tires every 30 minutes, just in case they have you swap with another driver....at the dock you've been sitting in for over 8 hours.

Are they still deleting negative post on the drivers forum? Are they still NOT allowing "disgruntled" employees to join the forum ??

    Wanna talk conspiracies ??? LMAO

I don't know anything of this CFI police. I was being polite when I responded to the inquiry about info on the company. Like you said, alot of what you read on these forums is a pile of ****. Truth be told I left Conway be cause they convinced me if I moved into a better lane than S Florida they could get me by the house more often. It was my mistake to step into that pile, but I did, moved to a better lane near a terminal and they still run you in opposite direction of home. They are crap in this respect and if hometime is important to you stay well away from this company.

I appreciate your honesty. And as i stated in an earlier post. I DO recommend them for new drivers.

I look at it this way. For all the negatives I found, pay was NOT one of them. They pretty much fast track a newby with regard to pay. Unlike the vast majority of companies out here.

how hard/easy is it to transition from driving a ten speed to the 13speed that conway has in their trucks? Is there a different shift pattern and do they take this into consideration when they are hiring a driver? Do they give some practice time to get used to the 13speed before going out for a qualifying road test?
