Check with Conway Truckload. It will put you over the road, but if you have more hair than money, then it beats eating and sleeping outdoors. Seriously, tough economy, take whats there. I don't plan to be OTR forever, but it is solving a lot of problems right now.
Good luck. -
Go to Joplin, a driver named Croc and his wife Ellen, put on Thanksgiving dinner every year. They pick you up at the terminal and bring you back. Their number will be posted in the driver bldg or ask local for the digits. Last year, I pulled in, got right on the bus to Golden Corral and when I got back I saw the notice on the bulletin board but I was too full! I had completely forgotten Croc and Ellen!!! Very nice people. Give them a call. I hear they also put on one helluva July 4th party but never been in town for that.

Ok, how do I request you as a finisher? I'll buy all the groceries just to learn how to save the money in the long run and get healthier in the process
-
Thanks for the compliment, don't believe there is a way to request a finisher. Trust me...you will do fine with whoever you run with. Even if the diet isn't the healthiest, the learning is important. Then, when you go out solo, you can cook and eat as you like.
Then there are blogs and threads about cooking in the truck.
Have fun, be safe. -
Any guys in FL know details about bringing the truck home on off time? For example: would I be able to drop the trailer at a Conway yard in Jacksonville and bobtail home (Daytona area) ? I'm going to be teaming with Conway Truckload and plan on going to orientation in 2 weeks. I have no problem leaving the tractor in my driveway but if I bring the trailer home, these storage places want a lot of money.
My recruiter gave me an answer but their answers are not always 100% truth.
Thanks -
disclaimer: I'm new to CWTL, but they were extraordinarily clear in my orientation that the tractor & trailer must remain coupled during your time off...

This is accurate ^ you can park at a retail establishment it you get permission from the manager. Or a truck stop, but you need authorization to park wherever you do end up.
mr.speaker Thanks this. -
Thanks a lot.
What do you personally do when you come home ? Bobtail or tractor/trailer and where do you park the unit? (I'm not asking you to give specific locations obviously for security)
