They both look like a Conestoga in reality, but here is why the name means a rolling tarp system. http://www.aeroindustries.com/products/conestoga-xp/
It seems like sidekits are slowly going extinct due to the versatility and quickness of the rolling tarp systems.

Sidekit $3,500-$5,500
......as long there is a steel hauling industry there will always be a need for a sidekit.... -
Conestoga was actually the company/brand who developed the rolling tarp system. Now it's generic like Q-tip. I don't remember if they went under or someone purchased them?
I run Quick draws and love them. But I've been looking at the Camelion's out of Canada. Their tarp can roll off the trailer onto a stand. My customers need tarping, so I'm not sure why they intrigue me. I guess it's just the option especially for a drop or double drop (can haul 10'6").Last edited: May 4, 2015

Boy I could use that for a few weeks. I have a bunch of runs with 10'6 frames that stack together (when assembled) and must be tarped. 4 open 4x4 steel posts at the top of each unit, not at the corners and about 15" above the frame. Had to haul them on my open step. I don't think I've tarped a load since the 90's. 4 tarps and 2 1/2 hours later... drive 2 1/2 hours, untarp, drive back.
Still in the lazy boy.catalinaflyer Thanks this. -
The only time I wish I had something like that is when I have a tarp load and the lazy side of me wishes I had an easier way. Tarped loads are not my mainstay. I do maybe 2 - 3 tarp loads a month,.. I have gone 3 months with out tarping a load.
Seems I tarp more in the winter when things slow down than I do during the summer when more freight is moving. And its usually when I'm out there freezing my tukus off with the wind making it difficult to get my tarps tight because they are so stiff from the cold, thats when I really wish I had a covered wagon.
But then in the summer time I am very content with how things are.
Kinda like getting home sick while out on the road,.. then after a lengthy home time, I wish I was back out on the road. Vicious mental cycle.

I use to pull one of these trailers. No OD loads, make for a great situation when having to do multiple drops Not having to (tarp on) (tarp off) roll/fold 1 tarp with 2 left to go. Just open gates, slide assembly to the rear, load or unload, secure/unsecure the load and slide the assembly forward and close the gate and go. Takes no time at all.
Now, if you happen to tear one, good luck getting it fixed at you local TA. Not going to happen. You might be in for a long/slow drive to get to a repair facility.tsavory and catalinaflyer Thank this.
