    ok. I am new on this and let me tell you. I have a different opinion about truck drivers. am not gonna tell you what I thought before but I tell you what I think now.
    I have a new admiration for this occupation.
    like in any other job it has its good and bad. for me as his wife HIS SAFETY is my main concern. THANK YOU ALL for creating this forum.

    You're part of the job now too. One thing about trucking is the driver gets a lot of window time. What that means is he gets to think a lot. If he has bad thoughts on what's going on at home his imagination can run wild. I don't mean to lie to him but let him know what's going on and everthing is ok. If it's not stay calm and find out how to solve the problem. It's just like the military, you've got to take care of the home front and you'll have times that you just wish he was there to do it.

    I wish there were companies that would form wives clubs so you can handle the problem better and share with others that are going through the same thing. It helps to have others he can trust and a big family is a huge plus.

    Let him call you when he can and try to be very understanding if he misses a call date. The job changes all the time and he can only call when he has down time. I wish that I had the gadgets they have today to call my wife because back when I needed it, it was a pay phone. Give all your support and it will be greatly appreciated. Minimize his worries and his thoughts will be more on the job. Good luck and I hope he makes a ton of money.
