True, but look at the difference in expected income between the two.

Keep in mind that the stuff posted here is posted by a bunch of different folks. Not everything happens to any one person, at least not all at once,:biggrin_2559: perhaps over enough time though. . .

A lot of the stuff that happens, is stuff that you learn from so it can be avoided in the future. One of the best thing about this forum is that you just might be able to learn from somebody else's screwup, instead of finding stuff out the hard way.

It's a real picture. It's a sculpture someone made. Go to Google images and type in Big Rig Jig. I saw in a road king magazine.

And the produce yield from that $20 million acre wouldn't feed and support a family of four for a month.

If Las Vegas had to grow their own, can you imagine the impact on all those good restaurant meals they serve inexpensively?

Some land MAKES money and some land
    TAKES money.
    Who deserves more profit?
The makers or the takers? :biggrin_25525:

i beleave that! my thing is why target the newbie??????:biggrin_25513:all your trying to do is better your life. i feel getting into the trucking biz-ness is making a career move your not just getting a job you are moving into a carrer something you can have for the rest of your life. why do some of these companies want to burn you (newbie) trying to get iin to this biz-ness.why?????? the more people stay employed the stronger this country gets ! (my opinion) i say leave the newbie alone cateer to him. till he/she gets time on the road.!!!!!!! (experience)

smitty If you noticed I said "Not all companies will fire a newbie for conflicts between the trainee and trainer." As a former trainer I had a couple of trainees who had problems with their prior trainers. One trainer would make his trainee do some unsafe things, the other was not logging legal. They completed their training with me and one is still driving with the same company after 16 months. The other still with the company after 6 months. An O/O friend of mine had his son join him otr after being with him. After 3 weeks something in the sons background came back that prevented him from driving for that company so he was let go. With a different company I mysef had a problem with my first trainer and requested a new trainer which I received. I was not fired from that company and when I left a month later they asked me to come back. You are right about trainers needing patience some trainers forget that most newbies are still learning and will grind the gears, break to hard not do proper turns, take for ever to do a simple back.

thanks for that i needed to hear that.i wish i was getting someone like you as a trainer when its time for me to go otr, you sound like you care.i beleave its all about the newbie getting a chance. you guys (trainers ) all ready know that newbies are nervous as hell. so why not take your time. it will pay off at the end when you see this guy/girl on the road solo whipping there truck like like a 20yr. vet; and you (the trainer) can say thats my training skills and youll feel better when he/she walks up to you in a truck stop and thanks you for all your help and being patience with them while they were in training!!! (self rewarding)
