Just replaced my connex 3300, I've killed two of them in 4 years. I was pretty upset this time. Both radios stopped transmitting but would receive . Replaced mike and it didn't make a difference . The place where I bought them looked at both radios and couldn't figure them out .
At least they did the stand up thing, he pulled a new one off the shelf and said see you next time. Have any of you run into this problem with the connex?

I used to have a CX3300....never had a problem, but I have heard from an old timer who has been in the CB repair business since the 70's....per his words, the Ranger chassis radios (Connex, Galaxy, RCI, Superstar, etc.) are not as sturdy as some of the older Cobras an Unidens.
Sounds like your CB guy might be thinking the same thing too....... -
if you had 2 different radios that died of the same problem, it would lead me to think you have a problem elsewhere. the radio being a connex really doesnt mean anything. they are actually a very sturdy and reliable transmitter.
if a radio stops xmitting, the finals are usually the culprit. there is only a few things that will burn the finals out of a radio. transmitting with no antenna connected, a loose antenna connection or high SWRs from either a bad antenna or coax will fry a radios transmit finals. i would check the coax and antenna..........how old are they? when was the last time you had them tuned?
just my .02

The guy who sold me the radios replaced the factory coax and antenna when the first radio went in. Everything was new and installed by him . And the last radio transmitted when it wanted to. I asked him to check the truck. And he said not to bother.
But I'll run it by him , I see him all the time. Tks -
it never hurts to check the most basic things.
