    Mine is an older 3300.
On both of my Galaxy radios the 10k switch stays down or off for CB band.

Trucker Pete,How much of the whip needed trimmed to set SWR?
They come with a 49 inch whip.Mine has the 10 inch shaft and i had to cut about 3 to 4 inches to get it tuned to 1.2
If it has the 5 inch shaft i would imagine you would not have to trim very much.

90 watts should be plenty if it is tuned and has clear audio.
An older Road King mic that is a real Turner-Telex would be great on that radio.
I have a new Astatic, new Road King and a new Ranger SRA 198 mic.
    The Ranger sounds the best.

My old Connex 3300HP does not have a 10kc switch, and as far as I can tell looking at the pictures of the new ones, they don't either.

EZMoney is right on this one. The 10kHz switch does just what it says. Moves your freq 10 kHz up the band to get between the freqs that have a bigger than 10 kHZ spread between them. Like between ch. 19 and 20 for example.

Ehhh ok....a toggle switch to move you from 19 to 20 when the channel changer does the same job makes about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. I guess you can take a look at mine, it's a little older model, but instead of labeled as a 10 kHz switch, it was labeled "hi" or "low" band....

We are talking apples and oranges here. The 10 kHZ toggle switch, like on a Galazy 88 or 99, moves you up 10 kHZ to get between ch. 19 & 20, as in 27.195. You can't get there without a slider or 10 kHz switch witch the Connex does not have. The "hi/lo" switch you refer to helps you move between the A,B,C,D etc bands. You still can't hit the freqs between ch. 7 & 8, 11 & 12, 19 & 20 without a slider or a 10 kHz switch. (I know you know this stuff.......brain fart?)

    EZ Money Thanks this.

Think of the 10k switch as a half of a channel difference.
    I also agree with Mike.....no 3300 i can find has a 10k switch......just a high-low band switch.
