guess I mmust have talked to the wrong recruiters. one told me yeah we'll get you home but if there are more miles that need to be run we expect you to do it.
one said no bonuses they are stopped right now.
one said very little home time, if you want to be home every weekend you'd have to go somewhere else.
maybe you just have to really listen to the answers. they'll tell you what you want to hear if that's what you want.
I'm sure many lie but the real answers are always available. -

Maybe that's from "what's the little blue thing on the shifter do?" all the way through living in the trainer's truck for a few weeks of hands on experience?

Q: When do I get hometime?
A: Whenever you want.
When you get there they tell you that you are only allowed 4 days a mth. They also can not guarantee you will get those days. If to many people asked for those days. Then 1st come 1st serve.
Q: How many miles will I get a week?
A: As many as you want.
A: Up to 3000.
What happens when they don't have freight in that area or you are allowed only 10 hrs to drive. The other driver already had his 34 hrs off and the load needs 15hrs or more. -
Like someone said, recruiters tell you what you wanna hear and will tell you the truth ONLY if you ask. They're not going to devulge any extra info if you don't ask.So before talking to a recruiter, get all your questions ready. When they can't guarantee you hometime on the day you requested, plan on an extra week or 2 before gettng you home.I think it's a crock if you start requesting hometime a couple weeks in advance, there is no reason why they can't get you home. When drivers are out here for a month or longer doing favor after favor for your dispatcher, there's no reason why he can't return the favor. That's what makes a great driver/dispatcher relationship.

what ever happened to good old truck driving restaurants and food. Are they still out there?? If you didn't see a driver there you probably saw a military guy. When I was in the Navy and I was transferring or going to a temporary assignment I would only stop at truck stops. I trusted them.
