Don't go with Stevens, they'll lie to you to get you there. The training they want you to take will cost $5,000.

    Don't go they're liers.

ok no you cant take the truck home unless you lease. i would avoid a lease and be company.as you already have a cdl then your not gonna owe the company 5 grand. you will get the miles in a newer truck. but your gonna haul a lot of meat which normally means sitting at a slaughter house for a while. stevens is not the worst thing out there. they have really good training and as i mentioned you do get miles

cgerhart is full of it. Stevens is a good company to start with. You have a lot of time to decide about leasing. Put that on the back burner and concentrate of learning and training.

cgerhart is expressing an opinion, not fact.
he gives no details for which he basis his opinion, so I'm inclined to believe is just a wannabe that either couldn't cut the mustard at Stevens or is talking out a lower portal of his anatomy.

If you have a CDL you don't have to change it to Texas. You don't have to pay anything to join. You simply come to orientation, and if your background checks out, you pass the physical and can demonstrate basic driving skills, will be hired.
Stevens has one of, if not the best training programs out there.

I don't know of any starter companies that have paid orientation.
After you have some miles under you and experience, companies will sometimes pay orientation time.

It has been posted here several times that you are a lease driver that your truck must stay in a company approved secure location
