FINALLY, someone who has their head on straight. My friend, in the not so distant future, there will be like 5 trucking outfits in America, and Walmart will be one of them. Most other trucking venues can be haggled with, but Walmart is absolutely, positively THE most important entity in America. They have gotten to the point, that we, in rural America literally depend on Walmart, TO LIVE,, in fact, I'm headed there after this( and a shower, just might meet that "hottie"in the produce aisle),,,ahem, sorry, some here STILL think truck ownership is the way to go, and maybe for some it is, but I don't think you could ask for a better job than a Walmart driver. DON'T DAWDLE,,,it won't take long for others to jump in as society fails, best of luck,,

Do you have to pay it back if you transfer to another DC?

Well, for me, it's the only game in town, and I have no beefs agin Walmart. Fact is, it's a much friendlier place than those union jerks at Safeway. I personally met with the Walmart manager, who is a local guy, and listened to, and addressed all of my concerns, except the crappy strawberries, which he has no control over. They just upped the wage for over night stock crew to TWENTY-ONE FIFTY per hour( that's $21.50!) I can't show any "earned income", but if I was looking for a job, and it may come to that, stupid economy,, non-trucking, I'd go right to Walmart.

BEWARE: I hear they have slip seating, especially for the newer drivers. :(:confused:

I'm confused as to why someone should "beware". Is there a hidden danger lurking for new-to-Walmart drivers? There isn't any secret to the fact that if you're newly hired at most WM Dc's, you'll be slip seating. I knew it when I hired on, and I assume they still notify all new hires that that's their fate. No secret at all. Nothing to "beware" of...

Well, I've "slip seated" before, and it's a different feeling than having your own equipment. You may be "Felix Unger" and have to share a truck with "Oscar Madison",,,it's incredibly discouraging. Fact is, it's a deal breaker for many, and quite frankly, I don't blame them.
