No boomer I'm not a recruiter. I am easy enough to find outside of this forumMr. Millis, you have way too much time on your hands. You really do need a hobby.
-
I have started looking at Millis. Do they run out west of texas? Do they have apu's? Thanks for any help.
-
There are a few runs that go to California. Not many tho. Been to Colorado also. No APU's.Ryantruck38 Thanks this.

My advice is to stay away from these trucking companies that has truck driving schools unless you have previous truck driving experience. The chances of you even obtaining a cdl are not that great. Most people dont make it a year and end up owing a pile of money. They sent me home after 2 weeks with a trainer and i sat at his house for 4 days of those 2 weeks. Reason I was told was inability to obtain and maintain knowledge from trainer. Well fact is trainer didnt train, he just called Wisconsin about everything I did and made up stuff about things I supposedly said. Reason I know this was the phone conversations I had with Mike. Go with a school that is not owned by a trucking company.

I'm sorry this happened but I would be willing to argue that this is not the norm...especially with M Millis.
-
Thank you. I hope no one else gets treated like I was treated from my trainer because no student would make it through.

I happen to know that several students make it through. As a matter of fact three students road tested while I was in school for thier truck. I leave out with my trainer tomorrow. I'll make sure to keep you updated in my thread on the matter. I haven't finished my road miles but I am fanatical about research and during my time at the Burleson school I spoke with several trainers...several people on thier 15k journey and several who had recently finished training and NO ONE had a single negative thing to say about thier experience outside of the camera debate. The fact is that Millis does not accept drivers from other schools. They graduate thier own drivers or they hire experienced drivers. They would be unable to keep trucks moving without MTI graduates. Thier goal is not to wash you out. With that said, I am sure there are bad trainers. There is a proper way to deal with that. You ARE given a book of forms you are supposed to fill out and turn in evaluating your trainer. That would have been a start.

most of the students that enter the school at Millis do make it all the way to there own truck once there its up to them to make a go of it if they can,t hack nit then that is no ones fault but there own I assure everyone is given the tool to survive what they do with those tools is up to them while I also agree that there are soe guys training that probably should not be they are only doing it for the money which is not the reason anyone should want to train and I have never heard of any trainees that when asked for a different trainer were not given one so I guess my question to you is did you ask for another trainer if not that was your mistake I have no idea what your situation was but I nhave this nagging feeling there is more to the story then what is being told and also there are a few trainees that absolutely can not operate a truck safely
