I just read your entire list about reefers and that was very helpful. I kept thinking I would prefer reefer over dry van but it does sound like there's a lot of coordination and headaches that accompany it that need to be factored it.
I also find myself in very much the same situation as bitshifter... just left 20 years in IT, decided this is a good time in my life to try something I've always wanted to do.DsquareD and Nightwind8830 Thank this. -
There are some pluses to pulling reefers, like a little more mileage pay, but it just wasn't worth it to me right now.
I will say this though, if dry freight gets slow I'll definitely take reefer over sitting.Jake_Blue Thanks this. -
I just submitted my app to roehl. I have a good record and such, but won't jump ship till after my Thanksgiving home time. They will have everything done except drug test and physical when I do decide to head that way, saves a ton of the bs stuff other companies have .

Enjoy the January weather in Marshfield. Myself, goblue, and The OSU were in one of last January's classes...hard to believe it's been almost a year.updem Thanks this.

I'm from about four hours north of Marshfield on the shores of superior, the weather doesn't bother me. reading the thread following you guys through training was a big reason why I chose Roehl.technoroom and DsquareD Thank this.

I'm waiting to hear back from Roehl myself. Been working with Debbie and should have an answer by Monday or Tuesday as to weather I am on or not. Trying to get into the flatbed fleet myself, and don't know if I'll have to go thru the whole school or not. Either way I am good with it seeing as how I've pulled equipment and tankers but not much skateboard. Is January the first class or is there on in December also? I am hoping to get back in the cab ASAP, and after checking the scores of the companies I have put in for Roehl is definitely my first choice especially 11 western regional.
