The sheesh could be avoided if a quick link was applied to the related info on the Corporate website... For what reason one has to jump thru hoops dancing around a public forum is beyond me.
So my interpretation of your simplified outline is company tops out at .34 +/- bonus/incentives ?
Tenure and miles beyond 80k and .34 do not keep the scale rising since it SIMPLY goes unmentioned?
The alternative then turns to L/O - more respnsiblility, risk, for greater $ reward ?
That is my analogy of your simplified explanation.
Just trying to understnd the general compensation stats even though the red tape is broad.
A corporate outline of these details prior to a committment would seem a courtesy and avoidance of misunderstanding. That notorious fine print can sometimes lend to a poor decision process.
LIke my open contract joining the military- stuck in a dead end mos until the 3yrs were up.
Thanks again...I was recently approved for Prime and no CDL yet. I may have hi-jacked the thread ? hopefully not the subject...
I have the outside school alternative but was still weighing the differences...
Rather have the guaranteed CDL for leverage even if inexperienced. First hoop priority is the CDL...May open more doors and fast track greater compensation while gaining the experince.
Who knows !?!? lifes gambles with the choices... -
No... company DOES NOT top out at 34cpm, I make more than that now, but Im flatbed. Im not explaining reefer as Ive never been solo reefer. Getting your CDL doesnt give you leverage at Prime. They give those who go through PSD a 10,000 mile credit on training miles. DTBs husband came in with a CDL, she can answer those questions. I went through the entire program plus some. Search function can help with other questions. Odds are, theyve already been answered.

As I said, a simple search for "Prime Pay" will pull up U2's thread w/ the payscale. IN THAT THREAD, ORD put up the most recent payscale for company and reefer. Search box is at the top of the page.
I *HIGHLY* recommend getting your CDL through Prime. We didn't. We're paying for that now. While Prime does offer tuition reimbursement, it is ONLY during your TNT training time.
JCW averages somewhere between 41.6 and 44.6 cpm. That should go up as the winter blend fuel gives way to summer blend.
Fuel bonus, stop pay, repower, and a couple of other bonuses add to the paycheck. Sometimes your FM will kick in $$ when you do them a favor or when sales or the shipper can't get there stuff together.
If you want more specific answers to your questions, you should address them to a recruiter. Here's why: things change. Often. Before Monday of this week, I would have told you that the fuel bonus kicks in at mpg greater than 7.0. Company wide message came thru fuel bonus now kicks in at 7.25 mpg.
I also highly recommend that you do NOT consider going L/O until you actually know how this business works. How the freight cycle affects your income.
Judicious use of the search function will answer your questions and then some. Those of us with carpal tunnel will appreciate not having to retype things over and over.SuperLiner and Freezer Burn Thank this. -
I came to Prime with CDL in hand. While I was happy I had it when I got here, I felt almost cheated by by school I got it from. The people that go through Primes PSD program have a much better grasp on trucking before they are thrown into the TNT process. Outside schools prepare you to be able to pass your tests, and that's it. Prime does that also, but your training is 1 on 1 with a qualified instructor and in the meantime your learning what it takes to get your licenses in a real world environment. And the miles you run during the PSD training count towards your TNT training
cableguy9508 Thanks this. -
Word on the street (rumor) is the pipeline is full of trainees. Im getting word that they are tightening the geographic hiring areas and no longer hiring outside CDL grads with no experiance.
Again, it's rumor. However, (IP can back me up) This HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. It usually only lasts a few weeks to a few months.
So if the info is correct they will son be just hiring PSD and experianced drivers. Where you live may be a factor also. -
Yup... they'll tighten requirements as the PSD rolls fill - then open them up again when the incoming students drop off. Usually all a person will get is that there are "more qualified" applicants hanging about. Then in a month or two, it will all be different again.

I miss the days when 6.25 was the min.
