Considering relocating to TX or KY

I don't need to see your neck of the woods, all I have to do is look in my back yard. I carry a gun almost everywhere, it's one of the main reason I moved here. And to top it off in September they made it so you no longer have to have a concealed permit to carry in your vehicle. It's now legal in TX to have a gun in your vehicle with no permit what so ever...

 

The saying is that everything's BIGGER in Texas.

Besides, most of us that have lived here for a while carry a gun anyway...it's unofficially called the traveling rule. Out of county traveling is a reason to go armed for self protection.

A lot of other things good about Texas...NO State income tax...good job base if you're in the right area.

I wouldn't advise anybody to live in the middle of a major population area in Texas...those being Dallas/Ft Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso. Instead, find a place just outside of the area you're looking at and settle there. I live 30 miles south of Dallas. Country living with the city still close enough to commute...if you need to. Cost of living gets better the farther out you live too.

Wyoming...love it up there...just too #### cold. We may shut down the Interstate down here from time to time, but we don't put up a gate and lock it!!!!!

 

Yes it's bigger in TX..... I'm a perfect example of that!

Although I will admitt Texas is kinda like it's own country and the native sure are proud of it. Some things I like others I could do without. In WI everything is so micromanaged by local government that you can't do anything without some towns folk up your butt so it's nice to be somewhere where people put such a high value n there personal freedom and privacy. On the other hand the complete lack of zoning laws makes for some rather interesting housing scenarios. Lets just say I'm way in the woods and have wooded acrerage but I have to drive through a trailer park to get here. Luckily it's a nice one there are some nasty ones around. Don't get me wrong, I live in a trailer so I'm not judging anyone but there is no excuse for all the junk you see in some of the nastier trailer parks

 

the humidity does suck,and I moved to the most humid part I think. I moved here in september, it was rough.
