Can anyone tell me if they hire from NY or Long Island for that matter? And where would I possibly be going for training?

NY yes not sure about about Long Island they have a hiring map on their website
-
Yeah I am doing the 14/7..I thought that was the best option for me..

how do trucking schools drug test hair or urine
-
Roehl does a urine test during the physical then a hair follicle test during the school.. They don't want drivers that do drugs..Cannot say I blame them..bandit58 Thanks this.

The hometime option is one of the things that attracted me to Roehl; it seems pretty innovative (and keeps their capital fully utilized -- a win/win). As I understand it from Roehl's website, with 7/7 you slipseat with one other driver on the same tractor and with the 7/3,7/4 and 14/7, two tractors are shared among three drivers. Anyone happen to know whether you can request a smoking vs. nonsmoking group that you slipseat with? I saw on the website that you can request a nonsmoking vs. smoking trainer during training, but hadn't seen info on slipseating. It's not a deal-breaker but would be nice if the option is there.

Yeah you can. I did 7/4 7/3 and 7/7 for a time and I didn't have to share a truck because they didnt have other non smokers from the area to pair me up with.
They definitely won't make you pair with a smoker if you don't.technoroom Thanks this. -
So basically unless you go national there is no chance of getting around slip seating? Does Roehl have a North East Regional?
-
. national is the best. most chance to get more miles. when i go home i dont clean out my truck completly. Ill leave some clothes. maps and papers. and left over canned food and what not. I do 11 and 3 but sometimes a month if i want more money. for me its better becouse if my wife has something i need to be home for i can be home on that specific day. i think those other schedules you are locked into your hometime. also when i go home if the truck needs it i get it fixed since i laumch out of a terminal. have talked to other slip seat guys where something is broke on the truck and it gets passed onto the next guy.Last edited: Nov 21, 2012

Well since I live on Long Island where would my closest terminal be?
