I have never seen a Roehl company truck with a deer guard. My guess is that they would not allow that modification to be done, but you'd have to ask them.
Inverter wattage is limited to under 1500 watts I believe.

Go to www.goroehl.com, click on the driver option appropriate for your case, then click on "Find a fleet." Enter your zip code, and it will display the options for your area. Hope this helps!

I too did RDTC and rocked it pretty good- Been here a year and am on my second ride, here's what I got:
1. Wattage is a tricky mother so hear this out- Many of the old Freightliner trucks that are being phased out have Thermo King Tripac APU's that have 1000W inverters installed. I have a 1200W microwave and though it drains faster than it generates, you can run it for several minutes or infinitely if you idle but I never had to. I had my Xbox all rigged up and everything with that truck.
More likely you'll get one of the new Internationals like I have now which have no APU or inverter. You have to pay about $350 via payroll deduction and get a 1200W (sustained) inverter which will only run 2 hours at a time before a several hour cooldown period. (fine for cooking, obviously) Need to idle during that time to keep it from annihilating your charge. You'll want it full when you need your HVAC after dinner. Also have a Keurig that has a 1500W peak draw, it won't even fire up without the engine running but it works great. This inverter installation can ONLY be done in MARSHFIELD. Complain about the 350 if you want, you'll make it back in savings from not eating out faster than you can imagine. You can not provide your own hard-wire inverter anymore.
2. Rule of thumb for customization is that if it needs holes drilled and can't be done with tape, zip ties, or EZ-off hooks then it's not allowed on company units (with a few exceptions). They don't have Bambi smashers in the name of fuel efficiency, or extra boxes. Storage inside is pretty good anyway. As for lessees or O/O there is a little more allowance for customization but I don't know specifics for those guys.
Hit me up if you're still hungry for specs -
Appleton installs Inverters as well, Marshfield refused to install one for me. Though Appleton did it no problem.

Does roehl allow allow you to take your truck home when otr?

Thanks for the info. A couple more questions:
The two hour limit: Is that something programmed into the inverter, or is it due to heat from running at high output? I have a 1500W (peak) cooker that on some meals runs 90 minutes; as you would expect, that cycles quite a bit. (Somewhere around 50% duty cycle.) The other issue is a slow cooker; that obviously runs low power for several hours. Both of these would be running while driving; suitably timed to finish at a scheduled stop.
If I could get the manufacturer and model number of the inverter, I could find the answer to many of the inverter questions I have. -
ive never heard of hair follicle testing, anyone know why they do that and how long it tests for??
-
I believe they are looking 90 days back, they test this way because it's hard for someone to cheat on this test.
