I’ve been reading all these posts about TMC and it’s looking pretty good. I can tell why the negative posters didn’t work out there...

With that being said, what is their hiring process like?
How long after the application is filled out do they make an offer?

I had an offer within 5 days of submitting my app.

How long after your offer until you went to orientation? (Assuming you accepted)

I went to orientation a few weeks after the offer was submitted so I could get all my ducks in a row with leaving my previous employer. My recruiter asked me when I wanted to start orientation and I gave her a date which was given a thumbs up. No pressure at all to get in the door as fast as possible. My recruiter was great to work with.

Am I the only one that prefers to back a 48’ spread over anything else...

Never having driven a spread axle trailer, what differences in backing are there to tandems and why do you prefer them?

    Thanks

On a spread I always know where the rear of my trailer is vs. overhang on tandem. You take it more easy on a spread but it seems easier to get it in a hole when backing for me than tandem. If your weighted down and you turn hard and push on the tires you will cause damage on a spread. Nice n easy it goes. I seem to make to many adjustments while backing a tandem. These are my experiences and may not be shared by all. Another reason is I love a spread axels are the way they look. Way cool. Anything that looks opposite of a van mega carrier thing is a plus! Side note. I love getting loaded on a spread vs. trying to get weights right on tandems.

Yes. You'll more than likely end up doing 2 weeks in Des Moines and then 5 weeks OTR with a trainer.
