"New retreads"... that's an oxymoron (or is it oxycontin?)...
Nails might be an issue, but retreads may be contributing IMHO. My brother was bragging up how much money he saves by putting retreads on his drives. Four blow outs, three destoyed fenders, and four road calls later he could have paid for at least two sets of virgin rubber.
He took off the retreads and switched to new drives and hasn't had a problem since. The added benefit is you can actually balance new tires. Retreads are difficult to impossible to balance.
Constant flat tires

gthunder Thanks this.

If it was caused by riding the fog line, all of the flats would be on the right side.
KillingTime, gthunder, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this. -
Your mechanic is probably right. Debri on the roads and highways eventually drifts to the painted lines or shoulder. If you have a habit of drifting over to those areas, you'll have regular flat tires.

.....or if you hang around roofers....or land fills....or transfer stations....or new construction sites....i get a flat a week, wont run recaps, because cores full of holes arent worth a #### thing

The worst is the rumble strips they install nowadays. Nails, screws, and such collects in the rumble strips.

If it's sabotage, wouldn't someone be doing it after you park the truck at night? Focus on the tire treads before you move the truck after your pre-trip. Then move the truck 1/2 tire revolution and thoroughly check the treads again. Check the treads every time you stop.
Personally, I eyeball my tires whenever I'm out of the truck and they're in view. Stuff stuck in my tires can cost me money.gthunder Thanks this. -
Possibly a bunch of screws or nails were picked up on a jobsite or two BUT took awhile to work through to the point of leaking

During pretrip I'd check the ground in front of your tires really close for nails propped against the tire. Maybe someone at the company doesn't like your boots.
gthunder, Lepton1 and bottomdumpin Thank this.
