    Thanks for the thoughtful post,

I have spent a year trying to do just that, and unless I want to work for 15.00 and hour there just isn't much to be had.

I am not willing to learn Spanish so i am excluded from many "openings" just for that.

I search every job I am qualified for each day, have a placement company working to place me in a position nation wide and since I was laid off over a year ago I have had one interview, along with the other 200 guys that they called in...

I am just about as sick as a person can be of that pursuit.

I have always worked out of town, usually home a couple weekends a month at the most. Have been happily married for over twenty years even with the time spent away. I am sure I will find the trucking industry a welcome change providing I pay attention to all the business aspects of becoming a driver.

    all the best,
    J

Okay the truck is in the driveway,
It's an 04 freightliner century with a Detroit.

Tomorrow he will be installing all the toys, CB (slightly tweeked) new stereo, 21" video and he will be looking for a fridge.

The left turn signals quit working on the way home and he was pretty lit up because the lamps tested okay. If anyone knows of a common problem with this a little help would be greatly received.

    All the best,
    Joe
