Coming from a small Mom & Pop residential trash service, just got hired on with a large company as a Container Delivery Driver. Sounded nicer than my previous gig-residential trash collection and winching 2 & 4yd dumpsters, start soon. My question is: Has anyone done this? All my buds in the industry are either residential guys or driving semis-none of which have ever heard of this intriguing job title. Looking for some insight on what to expect when I walk through the doors in a few days, anything you could pass on would be greatly appreciated.

    What type of "containers"

Everyone seems to call things by different names depending on the state....

Got the feeling it's gonna be dumpsters on a flatbed, but "container" could be #### near anything! Will find out tomorrow...

    What did you find out?
From what I know. That's not a bad job. Might be involved in container maintenance also?

Not a bad gig, indeed-coming from the residential side of things, it took me by surprise when the guy training me said we had some stops where all we had to do was change the angle of a dumpster with the forklift! Some minor maintenance here and there. Learning the routing and the forklift today, we'll see what tomorrow has in store...
