Not when you have presentable looking trucks. And no steer tires on the back. DOT loves guys with steers on the back. They set up right out the gate here at NS and wait on guys sometimes..

a tire is a tire, thread pattern is not a dot requirement.lot of people recommend a less aggressive pattern during the summer to save on fuel.

That's exactly why hubby passed on the offer from the company here. Chassis looked like they were on their last leg, and supposedly now the RR owns them. IDK, but he said it was a CSA score boost waiting to happen. :yes2557:

Now chassis are in bigger pools. They have gotten way better. There are rare anymore co-op pools. They switched to neutral.

My uncle always told me, never haul Containers, its a CSA trap waiting to happen. I always wondered why, then I just paid more attention to the chassis going down the road and I see why. Always wondered why their tires wobbled so bad, looked like they were going to fall off lol. Also, you guys say theyre heavy, is everything over 80k or something? I know nothing about containers, so Im following this just for the lesson on containers, not that Ill ever haul them myself.

And as far as hauling steel goes, my Uncle does that, they live pretty comfortable, hes also got 2 drivers driving for him.

1 most chassis are 6800lbs boxes are like 8k. The loads are mostly heavy. I had an export of paper it was 52k load by itself. Talk about grossing 85? Loads going to goodyear on a 20ft container running 49k on a good day. We had those long tri-axles. But it can be light. We had several contracts that were light..

Ive seen a few of them tri axles as well. Do they consider that three seperate axles, so you can weigh at 20k,20k,20k? or is it a tandem and a single, so 34k, 20k? or something different?

And if you gross 85k with just a basic 5 axle truck/chassis, how is that legal?
