Once they sent me to Ocean City Maryland with a load of import asian furnature to a new motel around the 30th street being built on the bay side.

Arrived at 8 am. Told to park the truck, shut it off, open trailer (Break US Customs RedBall seal which has been approved earlier by US Customs and open box) Go away and enjoy the beach until afternoon.

I enjoyed the beach until 3 pm and town entertainment until walking back to the truck from around 70th street south and got it back to baltimore later that evening tired but happy really happy. I thought that was the life wished every day was like that.

    Oh well.

Those container boxes sure deliver to some cool places, in 2014 I was running loads of glass to new construction high rise buildings in Miami beach, traffic suck but the areas was amazing

I just would like to know how is the job itself for company driver position, i. e. how many hours a day, how is the pay (mileage or hourly), if is it a local or regional operation and why Interstate require container drivers to have doubles/triples endorsement?

I will answer what I can and ask around to get you answers for the others. If you live in south Florida ie. West Palm Beach or close by you run out of Palm Beach port, you are in a day cab, home every day. If you live in Orlando or any where close to Jacksonville and run out of Jacksonville port they have more sleepers than day cabs in that area. You run according to how you want to run. I see drivers go to maryland, Virginia etc. They do a lot of Atlanta runs so you go up one day come back the next day. Off every weekend. The port is Monday to Friday 8 to 5. From my experience if you live in Jacksonville/ St Augustine you can get home couple nights during the week and everybody off on the weekend. I have no idea why they require doubles/ triples because you cannot hook two chassis together.
    Where do you live?
