Oh hell, everyone does that once in a while.
-
There are professional truckers who do it every time they shift, but not I said the fly.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'll try to keep the site updated on our progress and let you know if we made a good decision.
Thanks for all the help and ideas you guys give us newbies. -
And this ole dude is as nervous as a cat at a dog show. Thanks to everyone here for some very good advice on what to take and what to expect. A twenty-hour bus ride is coming up, and then I'm thrown in the water with some other applicants and it's sink or swim. A road test on Monday, my first day in Joplin, and like Tip and others have said, I'm a cdl holder and that implies that I should be able to drive it if it has wheels. Still, it's a tad nervewracking. Say a prayer for me, please.

Decided at Last minute not to go with WERNER, but to (CFI)Contract Freighters, Inc. , They are Willing to work with me on my Upshifting and Their Company has alot fewer Accidents then Werner. I am heading out tomorrow 9/9 to Jophlin Mo , 1 week in college and 3 weeks OTR.
Finally I found a company That wants to help me, Hope all is true
Take care and see ya out on the Road

I almost went to work for them before I took my local job. I decided against it because they only pay for XM instead of sirius.
They seemed like a good company. Hope everything gos good for you.

GrayHare; I'm in CFI bootcamp as I type. This really is a top notch outfit. The instructors are VERY good, and they make it fun for you. Since there is only three of us in this class, we're getting plenty of road time. Our instructor at this time, Chris, told us , "You guys have your CDL's, so drive the truck the way it works best for you". That has given us the opportunity to find out how best we can shift, double clutch, float, or a combination of both. No one is trying to grab the wheel out of your hand, and these are real life scenarios. You will also be using trucks that CFI donated to Crowder College, T2000 KW's with 13 speed. These are very nice driving and handling trucks. You should be impressed. I can't say enough good about bootcamp, or CFI. I worked for 28 years at a company that said they cared about you, but that was all BS. So far, CFI has done nothing but prove they DO care.
I'm ln my last phase of orientation, and should be picking up my finisher either Monday night, or sometime Tuesday.

huh, I thought CFI drove all auto-shift transmissions in their fleet.
-
As I understand there are only a few autoshifts in the CFI fleet. Most are 13 speeds.
