Contracts with Shippers vs. Loadboards?

Yes i would highly recommend looking for some direct freight and lower my loadboard use. Nothing wrong with load boards but you want to try to find that great cherry shipper or manufacturer that is your 1# client that pays a premium price for your direct premium carrier service. Bc he/she is a broker. Brokers don't get pm function on ttr.

 

That's where I fall in. Takes a lot of effort, but my guys don't ever sit. I keep the deadheading down to an average of 4.5% each week.

 

Wow. I thought I was doing good getting it down to low 60% deadhead this year.

 

14 hr days on my part, but it pays off..

 

Today I'll be at 380 odometer miles: 142 total loaded.
Not awful far off my average :/
If I had help I could commit to loads both ways knowing they'd get delivered vs stepping on my regularly scheduled programming.
