I think it's from people who run alot of weight on the front "axle". The camber fluctuates alot more with weight/load on on an I-beam than an IFS or Hotchkiss setup.

Not your problem, not your problem. Keep on truckin :)

I don't know if they ever put the ZF6 manual in the 7.3 E-series but that is the one to have behind that motor. The auto's were not that great until the 6.0 and later trucks. Those don't typically have tranny problems. I would not be that afraid of a later van with the 6.0 and they are very fixable if it goes cow on you.

Yeah I procrastinated a bit much and the van sold. I ended up buying a single wheel 05 4wd F350 crew cab with blown head gaskets got good deal so was worth doing the work.

I'm putting new heads/studs on it and fixing everything I need to fix. I decided to go with that set up to get started because worst case I can always daily drive it.

Do the high performance oil cooler and EGR delete too if you can swing it. They can run if you build them right. The problem is they were meant to be a 200 hp school bus engine and not a 400 hp hammer lane hotrod. The 7.3’s were lower power in the Ford applications and overbuilt in general, but the 6.0’s can be runners if they are set up right. A 6.4 would scare me to death.

I already has a egr delete, but I was planning to do a new oem oil cooler. Was told stock is ok unless you are going high HP.

Ehh, get a second opinion on that. The stock one is a bad design because it uses engine coolant to cool the oil and it is prone to clogging and cross contaminating. The high performance kits I am pretty sure do away with that entirely and use an air/oil cooling core. A Mishimoto rad is not a bad idea either. That motor needs cooling help.

I have a 2007 E-450 cab and chassis 6.8L v-10... Bought it from U-Haul.. $7,000 130,000 miles and runs great... Out of 12 E-450's I looked at, this was the best one of all... It sat for 2 years... I put a battery in it, 5 gallons of gas and she fired right up... I'm converting it into a hotshot setup... All I need now is a sleeper for it...
    Great truck...
Why spend 70k+ for a new truck with nothing but sensors and problems and hard to get parts for the newer trucks

A good choice not to go into debt in this climate.
