OK. Most of us understand that. Not all of us have the same fixed costs. Mine are $400 per each week. Depending on the savings, some of us simply keep paying these costs and not generating revenue because even if there is going to be some money left after fuel and tolls, you cannot ignore the wear tear on the equipment, which eventually will catch up with your current substandard after fuel net. If you have a reliable new equipment...e.g. 100K -200K miles then perhaps you don't need to worry about parts getting loose, yet. You are good for another 100K-200K miles without spending much on maintenance. But then you won't get enough money to set aside for future repairs and hardships. It is a balance everybody needs to assess individually. I could still make a modest living at 1.30 1.45 per mile on 2500-3000 miles per week but I am not quite sure, If I can get that even.
