Yeah please get the hell around me already if you're gonna ride my bumper ! It's bad enough you got your high beams and your fog lights on giving me a migraine. G' head and get lost. I'd rather watch you from behind where I can control a situation better than get bent over from your stupidity. If you can't maintain a safe distance behind me...there's the passing lane right there. I'm definitely a follower !

That's about the time I wish I had some of those "James Bond' cars with a oil sprayer or those sharp jumbling jacks to pop some large tires. The cops really need to make first time tailgating a two-point offense, IMO.
With CSA2010 coming down the pike lots of shadows would disappear as the "driver shortage" got worse.
-
I agree, you can always brake check em but better be careful lol. I dont consider myself an "old hand" by any means, but I've been out here a couple years and the behavior and mentality of of drivers seems to be getting worse and worser every year. Kinda makes me sad and almost (read almost) yearn for the days when I was in a cab over. So yeah, I am looking for a "driver shortage" but I'm afraid some of the shortage will be of good drivers that for some reason or another got caught in the crosshairs of CSA 2010, instead of some of these discourteous butt-wipes that never get caught doing what they do, with no regard for brother trucker or the general public.2fuzy Thanks this.

No idiots around. It was funny when we got in a one lane construction zone and trapped behind a 4wheeler pulling a U-haul trailer doing about 20 mph. The constrution zone was 13 miles long and we all decided to hit the air horn on the 4wheeler when we come out of the construction. It didn't take many trucks when we come out of the constrution to sound their horn and the poor 4wheeler run off into the shoulder scared out of their wits, lol " No idiots around "
YEAH RIGHT
Tazz Thanks this. -
many states have a 300 foot minimum distance between trucks.....and more than 3 in a row in iowa is ILLEGAL.
too bad drivers dont heed that 300 feet rule, i had a hopper bottom following me this am within 35 feet or so, i couldnt shake him and had to change lanes to get him off my arse. -
Idiots would be complaining. We had fun! Besides I only heard 5-6 horns.
Idiots didn't hit the scene until the late 90's anyways. You're old enough to remember how it use to be. -
The rule is 1 second for every 10 mph and add 1 second if over 40 mph.
50 mph would be 6 seconds following distance. Way more than anyone does. -
Whats legal and whats enforced are two different things.
As for tailgaters I'll tap the brakes a few times to warn them. After that I just let my foot off the pedal and coast until the tailgater gets fed up and passes. If he hits me its, his fault, no matter what.
Sometimes, late at night out in the boonies, I will allow a tired driver to follow close behind, but not in heavy traffic conditions in the daylight. -
According to your information you started driving in 95, sounds kind of like the pot calling the kettle black to me. -
The topic is convoys! You all find something better to do. Flatbed and you run around reading between the lines and critizing sounds like an idiot to me.
