XPO is not just a logistics company. Con Way drivers are in for a huge change. The fact is XPO own HRT and Pacer and haul goods to the ports of los Angeles and Long Beach. They aquired a french trucking company not long ago while there drivers in LA down to SanDiego and the Teamsters are on strike and Are suing Pacer and HRT for stealing money from there drivers.. What they appear to be doing is trying to break there Union Drivers and word is that they will sell off large chunks of Con-Way and there assests meaning there trucks.. They are not keeping any of Con-Ways Executives so I would imagine the sale of Con-Way Assets will commence first quarter of next year. Con-Ways CEO will remain for a time as an adviser which generally means in aquisitions like this that they do not want the rank and file to panic so they keep the CEO until they can start selling off the divisions of the company for huge profits.. If you drive for CON-WAY I would pay close attention as this is probably not your last stop on the sale wheel.

The policy in the employee portal is also branded XPO now.upnorthwpg Thanks this.

Where are you hearing this "word"?
-

The word is from a Union official as far as the strike by Pacer and HTR drivers. and an Executive soon to be former executive of Con-Way which is either his opinion of the situation or something he actually knows to be fact because of his position... I do not know it to be absolute fact I merely am passing along information I have heard..

I really don't think the freight side has anything to worry about. The truckload side though.. Bob Dobalina and whip Thank this.
-

Well unless of course XPO actually is found liable for stealing funds from there drivers in California.. If that is true I would be concerned being that they are now my employer.
-

The union guy surely has some inside connections and no interest in unnerving the Con-Way drivers........... Bob Dobalina and FreightlinerGuy Thank this.
-

The divisions/terminals that can show good profit have little to worry about(so that is more then 6%),the others..................
-

oh no...the sky is falling...... (again).....

I'm sorry to be so cynical but does anyone belief that a corporation would spend upwards of 3.5 billion dollars on something just to part it out?? Especially when they currently own nothing like it?? Truckload perhaps will get the ax, but freight is here to stay!

There will be some changes....but anything different than the normal comfort zone can be scary......let's just enjoy the ride and see where it goes...after all, it's only a job, LTL carriers are hiring everyday!Bob Dobalina and whip Thank this.

I just looked at the policy manual (2 minutes ago) in the employee portal and it doesn't say anything about XPO........yet
