Just wait til winter. Your blood won't be pumping then. Give yourself 6 months then come back and tell us how great it is. I have been with them for a while, they have changed a lot in their management strategies, especially since the "optimizer" was put in place. I love the screwed up raises they gave, too.

    Redman30 Thanks this.

Foodservice for 10 years in the Midwest and bitter cold of Chicago.... Yeah I'll take LTL over that.

I love being outside in all types of weather, wether as an iron worker building trains with no roof over my head in negative 10 weather, or 115 with a heat index, I was born to be outside. This work is easy compared to Foodservice, my personal opinion. Lol.

    lagbrosdetmi and jakebrake12 Thank this.

I too worked in Food service. I worked for 5 years at Sysco and 6 years at Alliant/US Foods. I understand all the ramps, stairs, slipper kitchens, and ####### customers. I am just saying it is no picnic. I never had Icicles on my eyelashes, when I delivered groceries. Nor did I suck in so much exhaust fumes, or work on a "sweating" dock with forklifts sliding around banging into each other. Everyday there is either a close call or injury on the dock. I am just saying it definitely is NOT what they say it is. You will see new faces come and go every day. It is a very Unsafe job.

First month at Conway a supervisor sent 5 drivers and myself to break an p/d inbound. Weights and measures gal was inside trailer. Boneheads were flying in and out of trailer. Floor was wet (you can see where this is going). I told other drivers I wanted nothing to do with situation. I went and worked 20 doors down. I heard the scream and 10 minutes later the ambulance hauled weights and measures girl off. The forklift operator ran over the girls leg. I won't run fast for anybody. They can fire me first. It just isn't worth it.

I like how some terminals also lowered the progression rate to three years (ie; Plainfield, IN).

Wow, what a waste of time of a forum. Sounds like a lot of chest pounding going on. Not a lot of useful information.
