My last job all the load from IL were always a mess. What do you all do over their. The only good ones were from Palatine. And this was a different company not CWF. but then again CWF has the equipment for loading and my last job had nothing anywhere

What am I getting myself into lmao. LTL is going to be a different kind of world huh? Lol
-
Yea but if you deal with the bs LTL can be a career and not just a job
GrannyLanePro Thanks this. -
I like ive the actual physical ### kicking work aspect of it. I threw groceries for a long time and was lifting weights 6 days a week and was a big ole buff beast. Now I'm a big ole buff beast with a big ole gut lol.
it seems if I can get used to conways policies and what seems to be obsessive rules and strictness, it will definitely be a career for sure.
It it would appear in LTL, possibilities are endless.
im using this experience as my foot into the LTL world./door!!! -
Seems to me that unless you happen to run into a Ego tripping supervisor or something,I think you will do just fine GrannyLane!! Starting in the Summertime will definitely test you on the Dock though

Remember than when u unloade a 53 footer to get in and out of it as fast as you can!! Gets HOT in their about half way through that trailer

CenturyClass, ACH1130, Any breaker loaded on a FAC is going to suck. It doesn't matter which FAC. Some are worse then others but they all suck. Some of the worst pups I've ever seen come out of XCW, and the worst long boxes I've seen come out of ULA.

Exactly. 15 years with Conway now. Have seen some of the stupidest people and ideas come and go. Ignore the bs, do your job safely and efficiently, stay away from all the young and the restless drama, believe a 1/4 of what the guys tell you, and you will be fine.GrannyLanePro and Sleeptalker Thank this. -
Xhg is a very large terminal - it's actually two terminals about 1/4 mile apart. You will drive a truck rather than just work the dock at that terminal. If you can handle nights bid it because there are a lot of good runs and even though you're just walking through the door you will get them. You'll run a lot of Richmond, VA and Newburgh, Ny right off the bat. A lot of guys bid short so you will run long. The place needs about 30 more drivers so if you like it you'll move up pretty quick. I don't think nearly as highly of this company as I did 5 or 10 years ago but you'll make money at that terminal and you will drive. If you hate it stick it out for a while and apply elsewhere like UPSF or OD.

Alright, update time. I talked with my current employer and they emailed me a copy of there background check on me for the employer that I'm missing because they closed. We will see if that's good enough. If not then we will see what happens lol
as for the Hagerstown terminal I'm going to be working out of, I've been jawing with several drivers there and there pretty much saying what jakebrake12 is saying, I'm going to be working.....ALOT of hours lol. Senior guys don't want to work more then 8 hours apparently and all the news guys are getting bids easy peasy.
They were here new guys I talked too and said they have been on line haul since they started a year ago lol
so we will see what happens gentleman!!Redman30 and jakebrake12 Thank this.
