I'm sure he's talking about Old dominion freight lines
-
Old Dominion Freight Lines.

OD operates 7days, if you want to work only 5 days Con-way is the better choice. I like the dock option if you don't want to drive they pay you the same to be on the dock loading the freight. Loading the freight is easy and Con-way pays overtime. Plus you can get some exercise and be paid to do it.

All I can say is ODFL - LINEHAUL! No touch freight, drop & hook with some dock bumping.
My husband works linehaul as a solo driver (since I had to leave the truck for a medical condition), but great pay (last we checked, better than YRC) and, yes, they are still NON-union so more money in your pocket! -
Think you are a little misguided here. How can you get more money in your pocket when the Co. pays your health and welfare? Sure you pay dues but in turn you get health ins. and pension contributions at no cost to you the employee.
ACH1130 Thanks this. -
ODFL all the way. Conway guys seem a bit stressed to me. ODFL isn't union where I live.
-
They probly make more BEFORE everything is taken out but after that they make less take home.
And yes I still would go ODFL, they have real low turnover rate and eveyone I speak too seems quite happy. -
Additionally, annual raises without bargaining, improved medical, dental & vision benefits without bargaining. All this because the life blood of the company isn't being sucked dry.Lonesome Thanks this. -
ODFL , PERIOD , END OF STORY .
I used to work on the dock and spot in the yard at the Indy terminal . Their drivers are treated like gold compared to the lowly dockmen .
They pay good , always have plenty of work and most of the drivers don't touch any freight . Once in a while , SOME city guys would have to load trucks but most of the time one of us dock guys would go with them to help .
Nice new trucks and trailers and good maintenance guys . Their non union and never will be , there's a general disdain for union's unless their stealing more business from them .CenutryClass Thanks this.
