I have a Freightliner cascadia with cummins cm2250. My problem is, coolant leaking from the radiator cap, i changed the cap with the new one and new one is leaking too. My engine is running 15-20 degrees hotter than usual and when it gets hot oil pressure drops. I dont know if it has anything to do with the last repairs but i changed the oil pan seal, crankcase breather filter. And right after this it started to having these problems. Any ideas or similar experience?

Did you clean the rad. very well where the rad. cap seals inside the top of rad.?
-
I dont know if we are talking about the same thing. Im talking about the coolant reservoir cap. Is it the same thing?
-
Also i dont think it has anything to do with cleaning. I believe the pressure is greater than the cap capacity. I need to find the source of the pressure build up.

Overfilling with coolant?
-
did you bleed the coolant system?
also check the overflow container where the cap goes. -
Poke a hole in the bottom and it won't leak out of the top! It could be over pressuring from a bad head gasket
Klleetrucking Thanks this. -
Start with a cooling system pressure test.

Make sure you aren't filling expansion tank above the MAX line when cold. Coolant expands when it gets hot and if there's no expansion room it will spit coolant past the cap.
If you're good with the coolant level next step would be the pressure test as recommended above.

The build up of old coolant under where the cap is trying to seal on top of rad is where you need to clean so the new cap can seal, be sure you did not buy a china made copy of a real cap? if a china made was found go buy a real cap!
