    Dieselboss,
I have a question about Copilot. I have used MS Streets & Trips since '05. I like it & of course that's what I am used to. One of the features I use is, I can name each stop I go to & store that stop. In other words, once I reach a destination, I can "mark" that stop & name it, for example, "Jim Bob's Cabinet Shop 123 Maple St, Anywhere, State, 98765" & save it. A day OR a year from now if I have a delivery back to that location, I just go to "files" & locate that file name & click on it, it will load that stop, click GPS & start. It will generate the route. I don't have to enter the address & wonder if its right on the dot, a block off the mark or a mile off the mark. I know its correct because I, myself marked the exact location.

I run in an area of four states in my job. I have maybe 1000 stops marked over the last 5 years. Some I go to regularly & obviously don't need to load those stops as I know where the are, but sometimes, I may only go to a stop two or three times... ever... & maybe two years apart. So, being able to "mark" stops help. In addition I can send that file to another driver & he now knows where that stop is if he ever needs to go there. My question is, does Copilot have the ability to mark & NAME those stops. Some GPS' can store stops but you cant name them or delete or modify etc.

As well, one thing I wish MS Streets would do is allow me to load multiple stops for that day. Sometimes I have 10 stops, but you can only load one "file" at a time. I can manually mark more than one stop but I cant load more than one stored file location for multiple stop routes :)

Yes, you can add locations to what they call "Favorites" in Copilot. You can also add them as POI's and create a POI category, like "WalMarts."

With the "Favorites" method you can also go back in later and change the name, add new ones, or delete them. You can add things to your favorites by entering a address, picking it from the embedded POI list, clicking a spot on the map, or the aforementioned "save current location" method. But with the "adding them as a POI" method I have been unsuccessful at finding a method from inside of CoPilot to go back and edit those. It's great that you can make your own POI categories and assign them their own icon, etc, but there needs to be an editor for that function. With the "favorites" method it lists them in alphabetical order so you need to be wise on how you name things so that you can find them later if you are going to put hundreds (or thousands) in the list of saved places.

to turn everything off. google instructions for MSCONFIG.

like the boss says. your tieing up system resource for crap you don't need ruinning next to the clock.

as for the updates. they are turned off. PERIOD. (windows)\

reason being. as everytime msft has an update it slows down the startup procedure.

i wznt my pc to boot up and be useable off the bat. not wait 15 minutes. which is what happens after a few thousdand msft updates

for the average user. they don't really mean anaything or do anything for us. we just want to be able to use the computer. which is what most people care about.

i use the pcmiler standalone which is made by copilot. i also have copilot downloaded onto my phone.
