that's exactly what it's capable of. wifi internet only.
if your really cheap and tech savy enough, and found yourself a tablet or something with only bluetooth. you could use your phone as a gps transmitter useing free apps.
i have copilot on my laptop also. and it uses my phone as a gps transmitter. i don't have a actual gps dongle to plug into laptop.Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Now that's creative!
-
I think if it were capable of cellular then it would be called a phablet.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Yes, on a Sprint Note 2. But not on the one in the link he posted. Only about 1 gb free on that one out of the box before removing whatever it will allow to remove. Was just pointing out was several reviews had said in case he didn't notice that.Skydivedavec Thanks this.

Be careful when buying Copilot Truck to run on a tablet. A newer tablet has a high resolution display, making everything too tiny to read. You can't change the tablet resolution easily (android requires root access) and ALK isn't interested in fixing the problem from their end. Worst of all, you can't test Copilot Truck before you buy it. I wasted $150 on this lesson.
Do a search on their user forums and you'll get an idea of the problem.
If you have an older, lower resolution tablet you'll probably be okay. But again, you can't try it out first for free to see. -
Searched but couldn't find anything. Do you have a link? -
I have an iPad with GPS built in. Is anyone using CoPilot with the iPad? Sounds like most just use android devices
-
The standard response is that they're aware of it and will try to get around to it sometime.

There may be more posts on the subject but these came up on a search on "resolution". -
I'm not having this problem that you speak of with my Samsung 10.1. And for ten bucks you can purchase Copilot Premium (for cars) and test it on your device. I did that 6months ago and still haven't upgraded to trucks. (I don't rely heavily enough on a device that I really need it, but the Poi convenience would be nice.) Dieselboss has written that Copilot hasn't upgraded for Windows based tablets in quite some time, so I'd steer clear of that species of OS.
