I don’t think it’ll be that bad. There’s still lots of ways in & out of there not to mention bringing everything up from the south. I do think it’s going to make Highway 3 and 99 a lot slower though if 1 and 5 shut down completely.

My sister will be going to the city in an hour, when stuff is opening up, and buying lots, for our house, and dads.
We got hammered by the storm in Pr. George area. Where in BC are you @Bob01176 -
Running up through Pemberton to Cache Creek, adds a lot of time. Also that twisty hwy was never meant for the volume of traffic that goes to and from the north. -

Been there often, I love driving the Pine Pass, beautiful area. Last month I took a load of tires to Tumbler ride. Went in by Chetwynd, came out the other Hwy near Dawson, ran empty to Charlie lake, picked up and excavator there, turned and went back as far as Chetwynd, got a motel room. Next day I took the excavator to Williams lake, and then 45 minutes up a logging road, unloaded it, and ran home empty. Pulled into the yard with 20 minutes left in my log. Dad asked me why I had so much time left to run?

Nothing crushes my spirit more than almost making it home. Last spring I had to park in the empty spot near where the donair food truck parks in Hixon, walk down to the Creekside Motel, and get a room, because I was that close, but would have run out of hours about Red Rock if i tried to get home. The woman checking me into the motel saw I had no bags or car, I Just walked up empty handed. First question she asked me, was I a trucker. When I responded yes. She said usually the walk ups, with little or no baggage, are drivers out of hours. Told her I figured it was safe to park behind the food truck. She walked outside and towards the hwy 50', looked down the 2500' to where my truck sat, and said that was a good place.
Now checked in, i walked to the gas station and bought a sandwich and 2 bottles of water. Called my father and told him where I was, he laughed, and said sweet dreams beautiful. Best thing was I discovered by turning the TV to the perfect angle, I could use the bathtub and see the television in the bathroom mirror reflection, thus began a 3 hour bath, and then to bed. Office was still closed when I got up to leave, so I left my key in the room, shut the door, and walked back to my truck. Figured the motel staff would figure out pretty quickly I checked out, without telling them, since the office was closed when my departure came. -
