Corona virus cases will skyrocket in a week.

Considering that everybody else is doing it, I'm thinking about asking if I can work from home too.

Thats not too far off. I usually carry about a 38 to 54 ping. That should be good enough to control a 18 wheeler from home.

A long time ago the squad I was with for gaming got into a discussion about robot tanks deployed to war manned by say 9 year olds with quicksilver fast reflexes and fiber optic to military command and control probably through a M533 vehicle. that was 20 years ago.

I am led to understand robot vehicles for combat under control of humans in the area for battle are taking small steps. I just don't know. Emcon would be needed on a large scale because some of our potential nation state oppoents know how to intercept and contest that control.

This may have been reported earlier. Medicago thinks it has developed a vaccine fo r the coronavirus .

 

Several labs have the sequence of the virus. This one is growing the vaccine in tobacco plants. The problem is regulations in FDA and human trials. Israel has enough to have trials completed by sept but making the millions? The old fashioned egg method takes too long and subject to mutations you don't want. So they are staking everything (Betting the farm) on the tobacco plant being steady eddies here in huge grows.

 

I once saw a 386 in a pawn shop decades ago and it took me back. But it's the 486's and the then 66 mhz chips and so forth that took hold. I did not understand computers until I built my first one about 20 years ago. I understand we breached quantam computing now where a 58 year old puzzle of holding one particular atom in either on or off state by electricity instead of magnetics is achieved this week.

We can scale that into machines that would be something else indeed not too far into the future.

That said, it appears that the coronavirus will be more serious than I previously believed, and I can admit that I was probably wrong for comparing it to the flu.

 

Well, if I run out of fuel, it probably won't be that dramatic. But I'm guessing refusing to refuel and or running it dry will probably just lead to getting fired. Won't get sick, but now I'll have to rely on squirrels and other small game in the bush!!

 

I was infected new years day for h1n1, it only took 10 years or so plus to get to me.

I blame the walmart cougher who did her best to cough up half a lung in the checkout line of all places the previous day. She probably infected the hell out of about 20 people there.

Took me 3 weeks to shake it 6 before doctors will visit me. Only strep A in my previous experience was more dangerous with 104 fever that week in isolation at the state school. There were at that time approximately 64 classmates in that dorm. To this day I don't understand how in the world they did not all get sick. Being packed into one large room for tv etc.
