Im not Stephen, but, Volvos are to heavy to get great mpg. FL always got better MPG then Volvo, although Volvo does make some nice trucks. A pre emmition FL glider will do way better then a new volvo with dpf.

I apologize for my earlier post, I didn't realize you said your 4 trucks were gliders. I am kind of confused though about where you got your trucks, with the pre-egr Det motor's, if you didn't get them from Fitzgerald. You mention the dealership, for the warranty but, a Glider from the Dealership doesn't come with a pre-egr motor, right?

Yes, he buys gliders with pre-egr motors from his local FL dealership.

Any dealer can order a glider. Any dealer can put one together just like Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is not a dealer. When you buy a glider from a dealer, the parts and labor will have a warranty that can be used at any dealer. I would never buy a Fitzgerald glider because of this myself. When I priced my glider, it was from a Western Star dealer. A glider can be bought with ONE drivetrain component form the manufacturer. That works out to either engine or rear axles. The dealer (or Fitzgerald) will then make the truck whole by installing the tranny and the other component you didn't choose as well as finding a title to turn in to have the new title issued. It's really not that hard once you figure out Fitzgerald is probably the least beneficial way to buy a glider, but they advertise a lot! I was going the old school way, pulling my engine and tranny and turning in my current title on a new WS glider, but I have reconsidered and that is on hold.

Richter, you're talking about things you don't know about again. I though you said you didn't do that?

Stephen runs 4 new 670's with I-shift and 4 FL gliders. He should be able to settle the debate with his numbers.

I love the way Coronado looks. Right now Coronado glider kit has legit stainless steel grille than Columbia or Cascadia. Same with Classic XL.

Thanks for the heads up, I love learning new things, especially when it pertains to the trucking industry. I will be driving a Fitzgerald Coronado next week. I wonder what a comparable Glider, to Fitzgerald, would cost from the dealer.

    baha Thanks this.

A Coronado glider from Harrison's( FL dealer), and from Fitzgerald are about the same price on Truckpaper. I thought Fitzgerald advertised they do have factory warranty, or am I mistaken. In the Harrison adds it does make reference to using a factory reman motor. Anyone have more info on this?
