    Ten hours of sleeper,then 24 hours,off duty?
    5 hours sleeper,15 minutes restroom,off duty,5 hours sleeper,24 off duty?
    34 hours straight sleeper?
    Electronic logs.
    Thanks in advance,for the replies.

Log it as you do it.

If you spend your 34 in the sleeper with off duty for bathroom breaks that's how you log it.

If you spend your first 4 hr in sleeper then go home... you log 4hr sleeper and the rest off duty.

If I run my 14 down to zero, wouldnt going off duty, without 8 hours sleeper, automatically commit hos violation.

Off duty or sleeper it does not matter, as long as you got 10 hours rest

Nope. As long as you do your post trip you're fine.

Remember you can work ANY number of hours in a day, you just can't drive more than 11hr or outside that 14hr window.

So you can be on duty past your 14 legally. You just can't roll.

For a 34 you can legally go off duty any time you are not in your truck and not working. You don't need to log any sleeper time to do that.

For a 10 you must show 8hr sleeper time if you are in the truck.

un true...... no fmcsa requirement as to how much time you log in the sleeper..... it's legal to log a 10hr break as 4hr's off duty 6 hr's sleeper or any combination as long as the total is 10 or more hours ..... only time you must log 8hr's sleeper is if your doing a split

Log it as you do it OR log it all as off-duty.

If you log it all as sleeper berth then some smart-arse dot officer will ask when you went to the bathroom...

    It's happened before.

Also. When you're doing a 10 hour test break, the same rules apply. Log it as you do it or all off duty.

    Why off duty?

"I stayed at a friends house."
    "Stayed in a hotel."
    "Went camping."
"A lovely lady invited me over."

Don't know about you all, but when I wake up in the middle of the night the LAST thing on my mind is what time it is.
