I read a little more on the topic of caffeine and headaches. It turns out heavy and even moderate consumers of caffeine can experience headaches if they don’t continue to consume caffeine, also known as, caffeine withdrawal headache. What’s interesting is that the headache can go away if they then consume caffeine.

Oh i know well the symptoms of quitting. Its not a walk in the park. Im a heavy user and have been for a long time, unfortunately. If I decide to quit caffeine, gradual reduction, probably. If I go cold turkey it might be wise for me to not drive a truck a week or so.

'Chronic' caffeine users are accustomed to having their blood vessels constricted, a common side effect of caffeine use. When caffeine is not consumed, the vessels dilate causing pressure the coffeeholic isn't used to. The pressure of the expanded vessels is what causes the headache. The constriction is also a cause of high blood pressure.
