What's a reasonable cost per skid for local haulage in a 50km radius? Got this question from a broker. This is tricky for us as it's still fuel and time. Any examples out there?

Per pallet up to a certain weight say 1650lbs

A lot of variables. Are we talking 1 pick at a warehouse and 15 drops? Is it going to take all day or are they asking to pick up 1 skid close to you and the delivery is reasonably in the direction your load is taking you?
All the scenarios in my mind come down to your hourly rate times your estimated time divided by number of skids. If it's going to bugger up entire day use you daily rate divided by the number of skids.magoo68 Thanks this. -
Ok then we're on the right track. This is for pick-up of one skid from one customer and drop it off to another place. We are doing all local short haul. Just getting started so often we have one load in the truck at a time. This customer wants per pallet pricing whether they are shipping 1 pallet or 5 from the same pick-up.

Price per 5 isn’t the same as per 1 . The lower the skid count the higher the price if you want to make a living wage. If your price per a single pallet is too cheap you can bet that’s all you will be doing often .
