You will have been the center of attention when you botch a turn inside NYC with a crowd telling you COME ON HURRY THAT UP WE GOTTA GO WE AINT GOTS TIME FOR THIS.
I dont know. Anyone can drive. But that stress? tsk... meds no no. SSI? Eh... what? 700 a month? That's yours to keep but when you start working in one of the most stressful in battle industry wrestling a 18 wheeler in all weather around all sorts of people all the time... SSA might want that SSI money back.
You need to think on that carefully. Remember that money is yours to keep provided that is a true need in your mind for that medicine. NOW... that could be a form of home environment or whatever else that is causing you all sorts of anxiety. I don't know. I cannot remember the last time I worried about anything much. Especially after I left my Maryland Home.
Could I be accepted?

I rather have a root canal without gas or some other soothing. A truckstop in a bad mood waiting on little old stupid me in the way of everyone is really a dangerous thing indeed. Ive had a couple of really close calls when people got violent. First words and escalate into physical. (Calumet comes to mind...and a few other places.)
I rather have a test in college. Those are really calm and easy compared to those nasty angry truckstops... Anxiety? HA. If you are in correct state of the USA you can fix that with a couple of shots at the bar after you park it. -
Many on this forum have been successful entering the trucking career with anxiety and using medications for that. I remember a couple of them quit after a few months, but none had issues on the road.

I can't speak for the OP, but from folks I know with similar issues...it's not traffic that gets to them. It's being in a crowd at a store. People bunched up on them. Or A mall, or movie theaters, etc. I have one friend who can't do concerts or sporting events. Large crowds freak him out, so he avoids them. Traffic while driving doesn't seem to bother him. An that's in DC/Northern Va daily traffic and rush hour.
Ask him to take the metro though an you thought you'd ask him to jump in a burning pit of fire.
As the other fellow said though...everyone is different. What may trigger one person, might not set another off.
I could see a truck stop but that can be mitigated to a degree. One can limit their interactions with other people and crowds. May not be easy but it can be done. Driving over night is one way.
It's not like someone see's 2 people standing at a fuel pump, soda machine, hot dog roller, etc an goes into panic attack mode. Maybe some are like that, but I would think if they had it that severe they would be working from home or something where they don't have to worry about dealing with people in person, or crowds, or traffic, etc.
Still good luck to ya OP.
Let us know how it works out for you, even if not in the way you want it to. Might help another with a similar situation.

dot requirement is for a job history for past 3 years and you will be required to provide proof of employment or proof of unemployment ... as far as medication is concerned very few mood altering drugs are approved and it may be helpful to have a letter of cleared to go to work without medication from your dr. ....... most of the company's don't care if you haven't worked for the 3 years they are more concerned about proving it
