Could I keep the CDL from my home state if I stay in a man-camp?

To prevent having to retake the hazmat test and do the background check again upon relocating to another state (at least until the renewal date), will most companies let me just keep my GA license while employed and living in the provided housing? My current rent is pretty cheap, so I’m contemplating just continuing to paying should I go to the oilfield (unless I find something in west PA as someone has suggested). That way in case I get laid off sooner than expected, or I find I’m not cut out for driving in the oilfield, I’m not out both a job AND a place to live.

Halliburton let me keep my Alaska license when I was working in Odessa.
Some of the other drivers bought homes in Texas, then they changed their cdl to Texas.

I moved all over and kept my license the same .

Makes it easier if you have someone who can forward your mail or open it and read it to you .

But now all the states have email notifications as well , at least mine does .

If Theres ever an issue with your license like my DOT physical expiring etc I get a email from my state
